Project overview
This is a demonstration case study for the website layout. It is not a completed project or a claim about Adekunle’s results.
Business problem
A fictional retailer wants to understand why increased sales may not produce stronger margins.
Objectives
Compare sales and margin by product group, examine discount patterns and propose questions for further investigation.
Dataset
Synthetic figures created for illustration. No client data or real commercial results are represented.
Tools used
Power BI for the proposed dashboard; SQL for the proposed preparation and aggregation workflow.
Data cleaning and preparation
The example workflow checks missing values, inconsistent product labels, duplicated transactions and valid dates before aggregation.
Analysis approach
Compare revenue, gross profit and discount rates across products and periods. Separate observed associations from causal claims.
Dashboard and visualisation
The illustration shows the type of overview a dashboard could provide. Its figures are synthetic.
Key insights
An increase in sales alone does not establish an improvement in business performance. Margin and returns provide additional context.
Recommendations
Review discounts by category, agree consistent definitions of gross margin and investigate changes using transaction-level evidence.
Business impact
No measured business impact is claimed. Replace this section with supported outcomes from a real project.
Challenges
Comparable periods and consistent metric definitions are needed before drawing conclusions.
What I learned
This sample demonstrates where project-specific reflection will appear. Adekunle’s own reflection is still required.
